Description
The Blackledge Classic is a season-long match play tournament and a great way to meet other members that you may not regularly play with. Sign ups will go until 5/21. We will start with the first 32 players to sign up. At that point, we will check the pulse of interest and may attempt to expand the field to a limit of 64. There have been many ‘byes’ in the first round for the past few years and we are trying to avoid that scenario.
Once the field is complete, divisions and pairings will be made.
We are asking that the person listed on the ‘top’ of the match (bracket) be responsible for initiating contact for scheduling the match within the time window specified below. (The pro shop can assist you with providing emails and phone numbers for scheduling.) Notify the pro shop on the day your match is being played and report the results at its conclusion. Note, although matches are allowed to be played on a weekday when convenient to both players, a player requesting that the match be played on a Saturday or Sunday will take priority. Please bring any scheduling conflicts to the attention of the pro shop (Kevin or John) or Board of Governors (Dave Jackson). One other small note, when your match is scheduled during a men’s club event, you will be expected to participate in that event as well.
There is a $20 entry fee to participate, the payouts will be based on participation. We will pay the top 4 finishers at a minimum. This a single elimination bracket tournament (like NCAA basketball) and all matches will be played with handicaps.
Round of 32 match complete by 6/22
Sweet 16 match complete by 7/27
Elite 8 match complete by 9/1
Final Four match complete by 10/5
Championship match complete by 11/2
